Greetings from ITB fair!

So now we are back from ITB- fair, Berlin. Getting back to school and to cold Finland is little shocking but we have to manage. Weather in Berlin was fantastic which helped us to tune ourselves into right mood and do our study eagerly.

First day of our trip was sightseeing the city and recovering from the early flight. Basically it was sort of repetition of old for us two because we have been in Berlin for couple of times before and seen all the main sights many times. That gave us a wonderful moment to plan next day’s fair program, what we should do and what kind of timetable we would have.

Next morning we were thrilled to see the huge fair centre with all the colourful advertisements of different countries. Once we got inside the centre it was extremely confusing. Massive amount of travel professionals in relatively small lobby trying to get in at the same time and even more and more people were trying to push in. You can just imagine people pushing each other in line without any sophistication and we had to forget good manners as well and use our elbows to get closer the entrance.

The next thing to notice was large maps in the walls showing us over 20 different exhibition halls. We wanted to complete our research first so the first place to go was nordic countries hall. It was actually disappointment because there were only one desk for Finland, Norway and Sweden. When we tried to contact the exhibitors they just gave us some brochures and said we should visit internet sites. Basically we tried to beg them to give us some recommendations.

The rest of the time spent in the fair was used to discover our own interests. Because we had restricted time some places were left outside and we just walked and took brochures. I personally was most interested in work placement section but I couldn't hold my disappointment when everything was written and presented only in german so the search will continue...

On the other hand my pair found this fair very useful, she had really great discussions for hours long, or maybe little less :D All in all I guess no one would like to change this experience to anything else. It gave us wonderful lifetime memories!

Greetings,
Salla

  1. Yeah, the south entrance lobby gets a bit crowded in the mornings :). Hope you managed to find bits and pieces of useful information in the convention program as well. Some of the speakers were excellent! - Anu
